Cinnamon Grand Colombo's kitchen artist Chef Weeraman has returned to Sri Lanka bearing in hand two Gold medals from the recently held International Olympic culinary competition, in Germany. Held every four years in typical Olympic tradition, this world renowned culinary contest was held at Frankfurt and spanned across a week of intense cook offs. Weeraman’s two winnings were for the D1 salt dough and D2 pastillage categories. Mixing his favourite hobby wild life with his passion for culinary art, both creations were behavioral depictions of Sri Lankan wild life. The salt dough formation exhibited two indigenous jungle fowls, while the pastillage presentation was an artistic illustration of two arwana fish made of icing sugar and gelatin.
