Long Service Awards at Cinnamon Grand Colombo

Cinnamon Grand Colombo recognized and rewarded dedication and loyalty at the recently held Long Service Awards. The ceremony, held at the hotel’s Oak Room was a tribute to associates who have completed five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty five and thirty years of service at the hotel, treating the associates and their families to a grand buffet dinner and drinks followed by an after party in a true celebration of loyalty and excellence. Notably, Mr. B. D. Collas from Housekeeping and Mr. K. D. Sarathchandra from Human Resource has been a part of the Cinnamon Grand team for over thirty years.

Cinnamon Grand wins ‘JK IDOL’ at JK Talent Night 2013

Congratulations to Cinnamon Grand’s Drama Team for winning the esteemed title of ‘JK IDOL’ as well as being category winners for Drama at the JK Talent Night held on the 25th March 2013. M K Maduranga, P N Wijewardena, H M Ariyawanse, Nushan Indeewara, R C P Christopher and J M C Sukumal Fernando - we are proud of you. In an entertaining and thought provoking mime drama titled ‘A Day’, the act conveyed a social commentary on contemporary reality. Cinnamon Grand is also proud of our singing and dancing stars, Shehan Wanigasekera, B G Chanaka Ishantha Beligolla, Ashen Madurawela, R M A Priyadarshana, Khiara Samsudeen, L M De Silva and A D Ransiri, who made it to the finals through tough competition and put on quite the show. We are also proud of our General Manager Rohan Karr for all his advice and support, Manager Marketing Communications and Sustainability, Tharika, for being the creative brain behind the campaign, her team which helped her with all collateral, all CG volunteers who helped make the night a success and the entire CG team for their backing and cheering. JK Talent Night, organized by a team from the John Keells Manager’s Forum was held with the intention of providing employees of JKH Business Units the opportunity to shine and celebrate their talents.

JK Talent Night, organized by the John Keells Manager’s Forum was held with the intention of providing employees of JKH Business Units the opportunity to shine and celebrate their talents, so as to enable personal growth as well as move one step closer to stardom. The semi-finals of the event, held on the 18th of February at Cinnamon Grand’s Oak Room saw 59 applications for three categories (Singing, Dancing, Drama), totaling 150 participants from all JKH Business Units, vying for a spot in the finals. The Grand Finale, held on the 25th of March, also at the Oak Room saw 73 contestants, totaling 23 acts, battling it out to win the prestigious title of ‘JK Idol’ and walk away with the grand prize. Both the semi-final and finals were judged by a panel of industry professionals.

Cinnamon Grand Colombo’s Tao restaurant has a Margarita Bar with a wide range of fruity, frozen, frosted and flavoured options.
